Web Design Halifax Where to start

How much does a business website cost in Halifax?

Between £1,495 and around £4,495 plus VAT with Halizona, and the gap between those two figures is the useful part of the answer. The cheaper end is a site where the branding, the photographs and most of the words already exist. The dearer end is a site planned around what Halifax customers search for, with the words written, the jobs photographed and the search work built in. This page goes through what you get at each level, why quotes from different companies are so hard to compare, and what a website that does its job pays back.

What do Halizona website prices include at each level?

Three guide figures cover most of the sites we build. A simpler site starts at £1,495 plus VAT: the branding exists, the photographs exist, most of the words exist, and the job is to design and build a fast, well-structured site around them. A portfolio-led site is around £3,295 plus VAT, and that figure buys the copywriting, the written case studies and the search research that decides which pages the site needs. A search-led site, built to work as a marketing asset for years, is around £4,495 plus VAT.

Each of those becomes a fixed figure once we have talked, and the talking is free. What we will not do is price from a form field, because a number given before we understand the business is a guess.

Why does one website cost three times as much as another?

Because the price follows the thinking and the content, and hardly at all the number of pages. Two Halifax firms can each ask for a ten-page site and get quotes three thousand pounds apart, and the difference is usually whether somebody researches what customers search for, writes the words, photographs the work and plans the pages around enquiries, or whether the client supplies all of that and the company builds around it.

Standeven Flooring is a fair example of the dearer end. The website was redeveloped around finished projects, then fed with photography and video shot on site as jobs happened, the M&S Food store in Pudsey among them. The build was a fraction of the work. The content is what has helped win more large contracts since.

What should I check before comparing web design quotes?

Five things, and most quotes leave at least two of them out. Get each one in writing before you put two figures side by side.

  • Is VAT included in the figure?
  • Are the words written for you, or expected from you?
  • Is photography of your own work included, or will the site launch on stock images?
  • Are the search foundations part of the build?
  • Who owns the domain and the site when it is finished?

Is a cheap website a false economy?

Usually, yes, and the reason is what a working site pays back. RB Electrical’s website has brought in around two organic leads a week, on average, for five years, and the marketing behind it has returned roughly five pounds for every one spent. Set that against a few hundred pounds saved on the build and the saving is gone the first month a customer picks the other firm.

There is a place for a cheap site. A brand-new business with no photographs, no reviews and no budget may be better off with something simple and honest for a year than with nothing at all. Just know what it is, and what it will not do.

What does a Halifax business get from Halizona that a template does not?

A site built by people you can meet, around jobs we can photograph. Halizona is based in Halifax, so the first meeting is a short drive, and our own team goes out to your sites with a camera and, for construction and property clients, a drone. The words get written after a proper conversation about who you want more work from. And the number on the site rings in Halifax, which is where we are when something needs changing.

The other difference is what comes after launch. Brodstock’s site has changed with the festival for more than ten years, and RB Electrical’s has been fed with content and search work for five. A website is priced as a project and works as a long-term asset, and the price only makes sense against the second of those.

How do I get an actual figure?

Ring 01422 771606 or send the form on this page with your current web address, and you will have a fixed price after one conversation. We will also say if the site you have is worth improving first, because sometimes that is the right answer and it costs a good deal less.

RB Electrical

Business
R.B Electrical (Halifax) Limited, an electrical contractor in Halifax doing commercial and domestic work, and EV charging as an OZEV approved Rolec installer.
Problem
An electrical contractor is judged on trust before price. The business needed a brand and a website a Halifax customer would believe, and a way to be found for each kind of job it wanted more of.
Work
We built the brand and the website, and have run the SEO, content and marketing since. Every service, EV charging included, has a page of its own with enough on it to rank in its own right.

Around two organic leads a week, on average, for five years, at roughly a 5:1 return on what the marketing costs.

Standeven Flooring

Business
A commercial flooring contractor at Southedge in Hipperholme, a few miles out of Halifax, established in 2003, with installation teams fitting floors nationwide.
Problem
The company was fitting stores and offices for national names while the website read like a much smaller outfit, so the size of the jobs and the calibre of the clients were invisible to anyone checking them out.
Work
A redeveloped website built around finished projects, fed since with photography and video shot on site as jobs happen, the M&S Food store in Pudsey among them, plus ongoing content and SEO.

Showing the big jobs properly has helped Standeven win more large contracts.

About Halizona

Who you would be working with

Halizona is a marketing company based in Halifax. We work with established businesses across West Yorkshire and nearby areas, including Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford, Leeds, Keighley and Skipton, and the businesses whose sites are on this page are all within a short drive of us.

Websites, SEO, AI search, content, social media, photography, video and marketing strategy are all done here by the same small team, because a website only earns its keep when the marketing around it is pointing the same way.

Approaching 20 years of building websites and doing the marketing around them sits behind the work. The businesses we suit best are good at what they do and ready for a website that finally says so.

Help the right people find you. Give them genuine reasons to trust you. Make it easy for them to choose you.

Questions people ask about this

Are the prices plus VAT?

Yes. Every figure on this page is plus VAT, and every quote we send says so on it.

Do you build online shops?

Yes. Educamus Tuition sells through an e-commerce site we built, and their turnover more than doubled in the first year we worked together. A shop is priced from the same conversation, once we know what is being sold and how.
